Hand Jive

Congratulations your school will be performing DDMIX’s Hand Jive routine. This is a really fun and energetic routine based on 1950s Rock 'n' Roll. We know your pupils are going to have a lot of fun practising and performing this one.

There are two videos for you to view, the first shows the routine in full and gives you an idea of what to aim for. The second will give you more details and help guide you and your pupils through the routine.

When you rehearse your choreography with the Darcey Bussell film, please work to the performance dimension of 32 feet wide (stage left to right) and 16 feet deep (upstage to downstage).

The dimensions are imperial as many theatre productions are not metric. Can we suggest you mark the floor left, right, front and back with white tape so that the dancers can work to this perimeter to achieve the best shape. The stage at each regional final will be marked out to this dimension.

If you have any issues or questions about these videos please get in touch using and we'll be happy to help.

You can stream the soundtrack to the video by clicking the button below, but please be aware of the legal stuff at the bottom of the page before sharing these files.
